ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Apparel Exporters Association said it is widening its supply chain transparency and highlighting ethical practices in a bid to win buyers and raise standards to boost the industry’s brand image.
The industry association has revamped its website (hotlink the word with this – https://www.srilanka-apparel.com/who-we-are) and modernized its logo to showcase its values, officials said.
“The new website is highlighting our strengths in sustainability, technology and our strategic importance as a global a sourcing destination,’ efforts” AroonHirdaramani, Chairman of SLAEA said.
“I do feel the new branding and website will strongly help our industry with our marketing.”
The association branding has remained unchanged over the years, which the members say a revamp was overdue.
The new logo of SLAEA represents the teardrop shape of Sri Lanka, the female workforce of the industry and a pearl to signify the island’s identity as the pearl of the Indian Ocean.
The apex body of the industry Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAFF) and SLAEA will use the website to project the whole industry on one platform in which buyers and investors can easily access.
“Over time we are going to flesh this out more and give a lot more prominence to our ‘giving-back page to position the industry and the country because we hold ourselves to higher ethical standards, as sustainable manufacturers,” Jeevith Senaratne, Secretary of SLAEA said.
“So that page will portray all our efforts. Also, this page will be helpful for buyers to find the manufactures and who they with all the database, company details and links will be there.”
