European Parliament has initiated a procedure to temporarily withdraw Sri Lanka from the GSP+ status which will be a huge blow to Sri Lanka’s economy. Full utilisation of trade preference schemes such as GSP+ remains an important tool for Sri Lanka’s export promotion strategy. A panel consisting of Andreas Hergenroether, Jt. Managing Director, JAAR Corporate Solutions, Anushka Wijesinha, Economist and International Consultant and the Co-Founder of Centre for Smart Future and Jayani Ratnayake, Economist, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce discussed how Sri Lanka might progress.
