ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed down on Tuesday, CSE data showed.
The All Share Price Index was down 0.27 percent, or 27.80 points, at 10,452.
The S&P SL20 index was up 0.03 percent, or 0.20 points, at 2,970.
Turnover was at 724 million.
Sierra Cables Plc which announced that it had resolved to amalgamate with Sierra Industries (Private) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary saw its share price appreciate (up at 11.70).
Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc (up at 85.50) announced it had entered into an exclusive long term referral partnership with AIA Insurance Lanka Limited in respect of their long-term life insurance products.
“This mutually beneficial referral partnership between the Bank and the Insurer will provide customers of the Bank a value addition by way of easy access to multiple financial and insurance products and services,” the bank said in a CSE statement.
Top positive contributors to the ASPI were John Keells Holdings Plc (up at 187.25), Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) Plc (up at 00.30), Ceylon Tobacco Company Plc (up at 965.75), and Windforce Plc (up at 19.00).
