ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted weaker at 327.10/25 in mid-morning trade Tuesday from Monday’s close of 326.75/327.25, dealers said.
The quote for smaller deals was about 327.00/25 and for larger deals for around 327.10/50 indicating that the market was a little oversold, dealer said.
The rupee strengthened yesterday after almost touching 330 with some exporter sales, market participants said.
The Colombo Stock Exchange opened up, with the All Share Price Index up 0.14 percent or 15.11 points at 10,807.10, and the S&P SL20 up 0.19 percent or 5.86 points, at 3,052.37.
Bond yields were stable.
A bond maturing on 01.08.2026 was quoted at 14.95/15.05 percent from 14.95/15.05 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 14.95/15.05 percent from 14.90/15.05 percent. (Colombo/Nov 7/2023)
