ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stock market was a mixed bag in mid-day trade on Monday, Colombo Stock Exchange data showed.
The main All Share Price Index was down 0.07 percent or 7.85 points to 10,680.16, while the more liquid index S&P SL20 was up 0.20 percent or 5.94 points to 3,021.31.
The market generated a low turnover of 265 million rupees.
Gainers during mid-day trade were Lanka IOC plc (LIOC) which had just announced that profits fell 60 percent to 5.0 billion rupees in the September 2023 quarter from a year ago, in its interim accounts.
LIOC shares had gained 7.25 percent, up 7.50 to trade at 111.00 rupees.
Other gainers included Hatton National Bank, Dialod Axiata, Browns Investments plc and Seylan Bank.
Richard Pieris and Company, LOLC, Hayles and its subsidiary MGT were trading down. (Colombo/October30/2023)
