ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed up on Monday, data on its site showed.
The broader All Share Index closed up 0.90 percent, or 109.94 points, at 12,310; while the S&P SL20 Index closed up 1.40 percent, or 51.04 points, at 3,685.
Turnover was at 4.1 billion. 1.2 of this came from the capital goods sector.
Ceylon Cold Stores Plc saw the most active trading volumes (Rs338mn), the share closed up at 62.50.
Both Royal Ceramics Lanka Plc (up at 33.30) and Dipped Products Plc (up at 31.00) also saw investor interest.
PGP Glass Ceylon Plc, which saw a trading halt imposed and later lifted on Friday, as well as board changes, saw selling pressure (Rs153mn), and the share closed down at 28.80.
John Keells Holdings Plc closed up at 208.50.
Major positive contributors to the ASPI included Hayleys Plc (up at 90.00), Sampath Bank Plc (up at 82.10), Hatton National Bank Plc (up at 204.75), Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc (up at 116.25), and Melstacorp (up at 91.80).
