Local businesses and organizations have plenty of events planned to keep Cy-Fair residents busy in October.

October 1-31: See the lights on display at Towne Lake

The Towne Lake Boardwalk has partnered with Houston Methodist to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month with pink lights on display throughout the month. Houston Methodist has installed an activating promenade along the waterfront with information to help educate visitors and raise awareness for the cause. 6 p.m. Free. From October 1 to 31: see “Spamalot by Monty Python”

The Stageworks Theater will perform “Monty Python’s Spamalot”, a play that tells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. October 6: Golf for shield bearer

Shield Bearer will host a golf tournament to raise funds for individuals and families in need. October 9: Stop by a health expo

October 16 Take part in a fun race

The Bridgeland Community Heroes Run and Walk will feature a 5km walk and 10km run around Lake Josey as well as a 1km run for kids around Lake Bridgeland. Merchants, entertainment and activities for children will also be on site. The children’s walk is open to strollers and carts. Traders Village will host a “Pop Swap” and a vintage fashion sale.
