Community invited to several performing arts events at Central Arizona College | Gretchen Pahia

(Coolidge, AZ) – Central Arizona College (CAC) is home to great educational options, but area residents also might not know that it is also home to several exciting community events. In fact, several events are planned over the next few weeks.
Coming May 4, technology students from the entertainment industry will perform popular musical hits live in a free concert. The concert will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will feature not only students performing on stage, but also students running the show from set-up, lights, sound, and support. behind the scenes. Although this is a free event, you must register online at Eventbrite website
On May 5, the students will present the spring finale of the Music Studio Recital. Community members are invited to hang out and enjoy performances by music students in the piano, vocal, brass, guitar, and string studios as they present their semester work. This is a free event that will run from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the evening. Customers must register in advance at Eventbrite website.
Later this month, the BlackBox Foundation will present Spamalot at the Pence Center for the Arts. This musical is a theatrical adaptation of the 1975 film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Like that film, the play parodies medieval times, but takes certain paths the film does not. It also takes a few nudges on the Broadway theatrical stage.
Shows begin at 7 p.m. nightly May 19-21. Tickets are available for the shows at a cost of $15 each. You can buy them online at Eventbrite website.
The college opened in 1969, with the goal of providing higher education options to Pinal County. With five campuses and three centers located throughout the county, CAC offers several courses and opportunities for personal growth, especially to the area’s Hispanic and Native American communities.
Upcoming performances will take place at the CAC Pence Center for the Arts, which is located on the Signal Peak campus at 8470 North Overfield Road, Coolidge.
