Computer Systems Community Celebrates In-Person Networking at HiPEAC22: June 20-22

· The seventeenth HiPEAC conference will take place from June 20 to 22, 2022 in Budapest. This is the first time since January 2020 that the flagship event of the HiPEAC network has been held in person, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

· Record levels of sponsorship and the conference’s largest industrial exhibition show the popularity of this event, thanks to its unique chemistry of industrial and academic research.

· Three keynote speeches, twenty-five workshops and five tutorials complete the main paper course – published in ACM TACO – as well as sessions dedicated to industrialists and students.

GHENT, June 14, 2022 – In a welcome return to in-person networking, the HiPEAC Conference will bring together the cream of the computer systems community from June 20 to 22 in Budapest. Once again, the conference provides an opportunity to explore the low-level technological advances that power the latest computing developments, from the most powerful high-performance machines to the tiniest devices at the edge.

“After two challenging years, it is with great pleasure that we welcome the IT systems community to the HiPEAC conference in Budapest,” said Cristina Silvano, General President of HiPEAC 2022 (Politecnico di Milano). “Once again, the program reflects the breadth and depth of research in this community, which is behind some of Europe’s most disruptive technologies.”

Each day will begin with a keynote address from a senior technology expert. On Monday, June 20, Hai Li (Duke University) will discuss efficient machine learning through algorithm-hardware co-design. Tuesday, June 21 presents Ovidiu Vermesan (SINTEF) on eCEO Ddistributed Iinformation in the innetwork of aautonomous ssystemswhile Wednesday’s keynote by Bianca Schroeder (University of Toronto) will focus on flash storage in production systems.

As usual, the conference offers a rich program of workshops to complement the main paper trackwith notably :

· How to deliver high performance in cyber-physical systems at the edge, with real-time and security constraints, e.g. Trio of workshops on safety-critical collaborative systemsthe Mixed Critical Systems Workshop and Tutorialthe New Generation Real-Time Embedded Systems Workshop and the De-RISC Market-ready RISC-V platform for space applications.

· The latest developments in neuromorphic computing and architectures powering machine learning across the entire computational continuum, including the BRAINE approach, deep learning for IoT and accelerators for machine learning.
