Vishakhapatnam: GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), established by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), the corporate social responsibility arm of GMR Group, has done it again in the recently concluded campus internships. MB Adarsh ​​of GMRIT bagged a massive 34.30 lakes package from Amazon.

A final-year Computer Engineering (CSE) student, Adarsh ​​comes from a humble background. Adarsh ​​hails from B. Gonapaputtuga village of Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh. Her father currently works as an ASI at the CRPF, and her mother is a housewife.

Speaking about his achievement, Adarsh ​​said, “I started practicing coding initially in our college’s digital library. Since I didn’t have a laptop, my head of department, Dr. AV Ramana, allowed me to use the department’s lab after school hours. I had been constantly working on my coding skills on online platforms like CodeChef, Codeforces, HackerRank. In my third year, I focused on building projects and gaining data science knowledge using Python with my coding practice. I’m glad I was selected by Amazon as a System Development Engineer (SDE) because of the support I received from my parents and college staff who believed in me.

Dr. CLVRSV Prasad, Director of GMRIT, said: “At GMRIT, we focus on identifying each student on their strengths. In the recently concluded on-campus internships, GMRIT students landed high-paying jobs in reputable multinational companies (MNCs) with 180% offers of different salary packages. GMRIT recorded over 1100 internship offers this year, with a 60% increase in offers over previous years. He was at the forefront with 95% outstanding placements. Infosys, Cognizant, ValueLabs, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Paytm and L&T were the top recruiters.
