Greater Philadelphia Cancer Support Community Holds Fall Fundraisers
Cancer Support Community of Greater Philadelphia is gearing up for three fundraisers this fall.
Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia offers free programs to anyone with cancer at any stage of the disease. Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia at Gilda’s Club has offered its comprehensive program free of charge to residents of Bucks County since 2002.
Each month, individual counseling, support groups, mind-body programs and educational programs are offered to anyone diagnosed with cancer and their family members.
These programs are all led by licensed mental health professionals or experts in their field. People can participate in programs that best meet their needs and meet with staff to help them identify resources they may need on their cancer journey.
To keep the programs free for all who need them, the CSCGP hosts a number of fundraisers throughout the year.
The 24th annual Paws 4 Life Dog Walk will take place Saturday, October 1 at Warminster Community Park, with an after-party at Gilda’s Club, which is adjacent to the park. Registration is at 9 a.m. with a 1-mile walk. The after-party includes dog demonstrations, raffles, a 50/50 and a silent auction. There will be games for children and the first 125 participants will receive a “doggie bag” filled with treats for you and your four-legged friends. There will also be music, food and drinks to enjoy.
After giving your dog a great morning, join the CSCGP for the annual Pints in the Park event held at Gilda’s Club from 1-5 p.m. The event will include local brewery tastings, great music and food trucks. Additionally, there will be a cornhole tournament where you can challenge other teams and show off your skills.
On Monday, October 17, the CSCGP will host its Swing for Cancer golf outing at the North Hills Country Club. Start of registration at 10:30 a.m.
The event includes green fees, lunch, on-course snacks, drinks and cocktails, dinner and an awards ceremony. The North Hills course consists of idyllic landscapes, natural fairways and strategically placed bunkers.
