BUFFALO – On the heels of a donation campaign to help support communities on the East Side of Buffalo impacted by the May 14 mass shooting, a team of Seneca Gaming Corporation employees and volunteers delivered Friday more of 700 pounds of food and donated items to the FeedMore WNY warehouse.
“That’s what Western New York is all about,” said Kevin Nephew, president and CEO of Seneca Gaming Corporation, who was on hand to help unload the delivery. “We called out for help, and people responded immediately.”
On Wednesday, the company held a community donation drive at the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, collecting non-perishable food items, toiletries, hygiene products, baby products and other daily necessities.
In addition to community giving, Seneca Gaming Corporation organized giving efforts for its more than 3,000 employees at its three locations – Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino.
“The effort to help and heal isn’t about one neighborhood, it’s about all of us — everyone in Western New York,” Nephew said. “We are happy that, together with our employees, our friends and neighbors in the community, and the incredible team at FeedMore, we are able to help, even in small ways.”
Seneca Gaming Corporation is working with FeedMore WNY to organize donated items and ensure they are delivered to residents of neighborhoods most affected by the shooting.
