The Bigfork Community Gamers’ Sherlock Holmes Parody Last Weekend

Bigfork Community players present their final weekend of their parody of the Sherlock Holmes classic “The Hound of the Baskervilles”.

A combination of farce, parody and mystery, the play was written by a three-person comedy company often compared to the Marx Brothers and Monty Python.

First up is The Hound of the Baskervilles Mystery, a chilling tale of a spectral hound pursuing its victims to their graves. But it’s also the story of three enterprising actors trying to make a quick buck by playing all 15 story roles on their own, including false starts and production issues.

The cast includes David Vale, Ethan Waltman and Scott Roskam. Michele Shapero is directing production.

“It’s meant to be a scripted piece that seems to be partly improvised,” Vale said. “But when these actors are pissed off, there’s rarely a performance where they aren’t doing something unexpected.”

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available at Pocketstone Cafe, Bigfork Drug, at the door and online at bigforkcommunityplayers.com.
