ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed down on Thursday, according to data on its site.
The All Share Price Index was down 0.43 percent, or 46.24 points, at 10,619.
The S&P SL20 index was down 0.65 percent, or 19.83 points, at 3,031.
Turnover was at 668 million. Most of this came from trades in the food, beverage and tobacco industry (145mn), followed by the capital goods industry (143mn).
John Keells Holdings Plc was the most traded and closed down at 185.50.
Top positive contributors to the ASPI were Melstacorp Plc (up at 89.50), The Lanka Hospitals Corporation Plc (up at 126.75), and Hayleys Fabric Plc (up at 41.00).
Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka Plc, which announced its acquisition of HEINEKEN Lanka Limited saw its share price close down at 27.50.
Competitor Lion Brewery (Ceylon) Plc shares closed flat at 937.00. (Colombo/Jan11/2024).
