ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed down on Wednesday, data showed.
The All Share Price Index was down 0.50 percent, or 53.80 points, at 10,665.
The S&P SL20 index was down 0.67 percent, or 20.57 points, at 3,051.
Turnover continued to be low at 523 million. A big portion of this came from trades in the capital goods industry (175mn) followed by the food, beverage and tobacco industry (126mn).
John Keells Holdings Plc was the most traded and closed up at 187.50.
Top positive contributors to the ASPI were Richard Pieris and Company Plc (up at 22.00), Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) Plc (up at 0.40), and LOLC Holdings Plc (up at 350.00).
Expolanka Holdings Plc (up at 144.00), Cargills (Ceylon) Plc (up at 339.50) Hatton National Bank Plc (up at 168.50).
The foreign outflow continued with today registering 106 million. (Colombo/Jan10/2024).
