ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed up on Friday, CSE data showed.
The All Share Price Index was up 0.20 percent, or 21.58 points, at 10,761.
The S&P SL20 index was up 0.25 percent, or 7.74 points, at 3,094.
Turnover was at 703 million. A significant portion of this came from trading in Food, Beverage and Tobacco industry shares, and Melstacorp in particular.
Melstacorp Plc was the most traded and closed up at 92.90.
Top positive contributors to the ASPI were Hayleys Plc (up at 76.70), Lanka IOC Plc (up at 106.00) Melstacorp Plc (up at 92.90).
DFCC Bank Plc, which announced an initial issue of 50 million 5- and 7-year debentures at 100 rupees each to raise 5 billion rupees, saw its share price close up at 79.00.
The foreign outflow continued with today registering 79 million. (Colombo/Jan5/2024).
